PROSCAR 5 MG

Proscar 5 mg is a prescription medicine used to treat the symptoms of Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia and Androgenic Alopecia. This medicine is for use in men only. Proscar may be used alone or with other medications.

Proscar belongs to a class of drugs called 5α-reductase Inhibitors. It is not known if Proscar is safe and effective in children. 

Proscar may cause serious side effects including:

  • Severe or ongoing nausea
  • Difficulty breathing
  • Swelling of your face, lips, tongue or throat
  • Breast lumps
  • Breast pain or tenderness
  • Nipple discharge
  • Other breast changes

Get medical help right away, if you have any of the symptoms listed above.

The most common side effects of Proscar include:

  • Loss of interest in sex
  • Impotence
  • Trouble having an orgasm
  • Abnormal ejaculation

These are not all the possible side effects of Proscar. Tell the doctor if you have any side effect that bothers you or that does not go away.
